It is a new category in the Spanish beverage market
Madrid, june 2014.- Miziara is a Spanish company which was set up in Alcobendas (Madrid) in 2012 by David Muñoz Comasolivas and Marcel Paul Khoury, two young entrepreneurs who realized that there was a niche in the functional beverage market. Seeing that infusions, with relaxing effects, need to be prepared before drinking, they thought about creating an innovative beverage with the same natural properties but ready to drink without a previous preparation anytime and anywhere. In June 2013 Zenpure was launched to the market being the first relaxing soft-drink made from natural ingredients. Manufactured entirely in Spain, it is produced in Asturias, (Meres-Siero) and nourished by the water of the Galea Spring.
Its distribution network in the food industry is continuously growing and with great expectations for expansion. One year after the beginning, Zenpure is available in Día supermarkets, El Corte Inglés supermarkets, E. Leclerc hypermarkets, Repsol petrol stations and Iberia on-board sales. In addition, its business expectations are also set out of Spain as the company is closing distribution agreements around the globe.
Although it has been on the market for a very short time, Zenpure has achieved a total turnover of 100,000 Euros during the 2013 fiscal year. The forecast for 2014 is to increase turnover to 700,000 Euros and to reach the production of one million cans. For 2015, a turnover of 1,750,000 Euros is estimated. On the other hand, the investment made in 2013 and 2014 has been 1,000,000 Euros.
In its short life, Zenpure has become more successful. It won Alimentaria’s Best Innovation Award within the category of Waters, Soft-Drinks and Beers in 2014 and the Prize for the 2013 Best Product by the European Tasting School.
